The curriculum in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Okayama University is organized so that students can master cutting-edge manufacturing techniques while learning the basics of the field\studied from an array of angles, from the micro to the macro, including the properties and characteristics of materials, processing and production technologies, energy-related topics dealing with fluids and heat, and measurement techniques. The department is ready to develop each of its students into full-fledged engineers, a goal toward which it has prepared a distinctive course of study not available elsewhere. Studies include practical training to raise English skills, communication and presentation abilities, and creativity in addition to the theories of mechanical engineering (subjects in mathematics and dynamics) and lab work.

To those of you who are interested in monozukuri (creativity in manufacturing) and those of you who dream of building something, come study with us at the Department of Mechanical Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering at Okayama University. The entire faculty and staff look forward to meeting you on campus.
